This is the second one of these I've purchased, we elected to get a whole system again not because the last one broke but because we added another dog to the family and wanted to expand the range, it meshed perfectly with the earlier generation model to expand the radius of the fence area. The collars are great quality and the battery life is good, no more replacing a $4 9volt battery every week like some of the cheaper systems. Rechargeable is the only way to go! We tried the wired version of another brand and it turned into a hassle with broken wires and tracking down breaks and always replacing batteries. The wireless system is way better. No digging, no broken wires, no expensive batteries. Keeps our dogs safe inside their happy circle!

This is the second collar for one of my dogs after the first stopped working after being sprayed by a skunk.
The Stay n Play system works very well for my dogs, but it does require the proper training for the best result. We live in an area with many deer, and at the beginning, the dogs would run after the deer even though they knew the shock was coming. After some time, they have learned to respect the collar and they will stop at the first beep. It has been a great way for us to be able to let the dogs out without worrying if they will run off.

My son decided he just had to have a labradoodle... After our Shih Tzu of 14 years passed away, I was not ready for another dog in the house. We loved our little dog, Barkley, and he was so smart and so well behaved... I really didn't want a large dog. However, it's hard not to love Cerberus, the labradoodle. He is an extremely affectionate dog, but he is a puppy and requires much training. Barkley never needed a fence of any sort; he just stayed in the yard, did his thing and came back to the house for a treat when he finished. Cerberus likes to investigate everything in the yard, and in the neighbor's yard, and down the street...
After getting Cerberus, we had to take him out to potty using a leash. That's fine, but he was always pulling at the leash and he had no freedom that way. I began looking at wireless fence options because fencing in our yard is not really an option. I didn't find any wireless options without high negative reviews, but I settled on this one because it seemed to be the best of the lot and so far I haven't been let down.
We've only been using it for about three months, so I can't speak to the longevity issues others have experienced.
Setup was easy enough. The included manual is very thorough. The hardest part was walking and flagging the perimeter, but that was not hard.
We began training Cerberus by following the instructions. My wife and son began the training because I can't hear the beeps unless the collar is held up to my ear. We took our time and continued using the leash until Cerberus stopped trying to exit the perimeter. Then one day he rushed out the door when I was going out and I thought, "Oh crap! We'll never catch him.", but he stayed within the perimeter and came back to us without much coaching. Since that day, we've stopped using the leash for his potty trips and he's done very well, for about two months now. We sometimes let him out without supervision for short periods and he's always where he is supposed to be when we go call for him.
It's much better without the leash and I can tell that he enjoys being off the leash too. I did have to turn the collar up to the fourth setting (stubborn dog version) to get his attention though. He even goes out without the collar sometimes now and he doesn't try to run off. He's been doing very well with the system and we're very happy with it.

Great product, the dog hasn't left the yard since I put on the collar.

We have a very big & stubborn Giant Schnauzer.. seriously she’s like the size of a horse and has the equivalent energy level to the Tasmanian devil. After having multiple encounters with our neighbors from her roaming through their garden and “playing” with their chickens, I had to spend the money on this collar. It was truly our last option!! Wish I would have done it sooner! I started training her the first few days as outlined in the instructions for only about 30 minutes a day. When she wasn’t training, we had her on a leash so she couldn’t run outside the set perimeter. I started out with just the beeping tone (level 1 with no shock/static) and it didn’t seem to phase her. After working with her I turned the shock/static level to 2 and then 3. I found that level 4 (medium shock/static) was perfect for her as it did the job since she’s so stubborn and so large. I never had to go any higher. She went past the perimeter a few times and instantly went running back to the house. I’ll be honest she did not like it and it broke my heart, but now she won’t go close anymore and is even acting better! She’s listening and respecting our commands. Treats and positive enforcement are a must while training. No more tension with neighbors and no more stress!!

I bought the kit which includes one collar and also bought this additional collar. During training, the beeps were so soft that I could hardly hear them, but the dogs can and that is what's important. I bought an additional transmitter, too, and put a transmitter at each end of the house so that my 2 dogs would have a 100-ft perimeter around the house. At first I didn't think it would work because the training didn't seem to have gotten through to them and they zoomed through the line several times and didn't seem to be affected at all. I turned the collar setting up to 3-flashes. Then on one occasion when the dog wearing this collar ran through, several minutes later when he was down by the lane - another good 100+ ft. away, he jumped, looked up at me, and came running back. After that, he stayed within the perimeter. I also have a dead-zone in the perimeter, but they don't seem to have realized that because they were zinged already and now stay. Initially, I put the collars on them every day while I'm at work and would not use them on the weekends because they usually want to be near me when I'm at home. However, they still ran off a couple of times, so I started using it intermittently. I don't have to put the collars on them every day at this point because they're pretty good about staying near the house now, but do put them on if I'm going to be gone for a long time. The bottom line is that this product works and has been working reliably for a good 6-months now. I do have the transmitters plugged into UPS back up batteries in case of a power outage because I'm not sure that if the transmitters went off and the collars were on, whether the dogs would be zapped.

We purchased this in addition to the wireless pet fence and I wish we knew about it years ago!! This totally changed our lives and our dogs lives! This is worth EVERY penny! We purchased the stubborn dog collar for our Golden Retriever. She would take off EVERY chance she could and was starting to push me out of the way to take off when I opened the door. We also have a Mini Australian Shepherd that uses the collar that came with the pet fence. Our golden was shocked one time and that is all it took. I don't think our Mini Aussie was ever even shocked, we walked her to the flags ONE time and she heard the warning beeps. Both dogs have since gone out without the collar's and do not leave the bounderies. IN ADDITION the collars are rechargable and waterproof.

Collar saved my dog. A black bear came blasting into our yard while we were standing in the driveway, so I tried to call my dog into the house. As we ran to the door, the bear passed us and my dog ended up chasing it.
I couldn't call her back, she only wanted the bear. This collar is the only thing that stopped her at the perimeter from getting tangled with the 500 lb Maine black bear. I later got a picture of this bear on my game camera. Battery lasts a long time and you just need to turn the collar on beside the base so it connects. Read the directions, they make sense and test it before use. This changed everything that I didn't like about my dog and now we are both happy and playing in the yard that is her own. In the beginning she wouldn't come in the house when called so I lowered the perimeter and she came right inside once it beeped. Great training device and the neighbor is not showing up with my dog in his car anymore. After the bear thing, I had to write a review. Recently I took her to my parents beach and I was able to plug the base in down there and she could swim and play around it and it kept her from going up on the busy street by the house. I also took the dog and collar to a friends house who had the same thing. You have to reset the collar next to the base but then it's good to go and the dogs can play together on the same signal.

I should buy it earlier. It’s dangerous if the dog doesn’t know where should go and where should not. By this system, our dog began to learn the safe area little bu little. We enjoy the everyday training.
